MyWeather LLC Wins Broad Patent Protection for Personalized Weather Services

New Patent Heralds a Breakthrough in Personalized Forecasting

Madison, Wisconsin, February 12, 2003 -- MyWeather LLC, the leading provider of highly localized and personalized weather forecasting, today announced that it has been granted broad patent protection for its Personal MicroCast™ technology. MyWeather has partnered with television broadcasters in over 50 markets to provide station-branded individualized forecasts via the web, email and wireless devices. The new patent (# 6,498,987, issued December 24, 2002) protects MyWeather?s technologies for producing truly personal weather reports, including current weather conditions and forecasts, as well as the process for delivering the information electronically to a station?s viewers and online users.

MyWeather's Personal MicroCast also allows stations to deliver massive and continuous daily direct newscast promotion to their viewers, while also creating new revenue streams. FutureCast™: A unique animated map displays the forecasted hourly movement of weather components into the future for multiple locations of personal interest.

Current Conditions: Monitor and compare 11 different types of weather conditions for up to 5 personal locations simultaneously.

Wireless Alerts: Sends personal storm alerts to cell phones or pagers when a storm is predicted to impact one or more personally chosen locations.

The patent, titled "System and Method for Providing Personalized Weather Reports and the Like," was issued to MyWeather's parent company, Weather Central, Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., and assigned to MyWeather, LLC.
